When using the child category with the product type, it generally retrieves the most nested category from the selected categories. This is typically a single category, as it is a child category. However, the other two options—’product full category’ and ‘product category’—retrieve categories with hierarchy.

If there’s a mismatch with your child category, consider using one of the other options. If the child category is not retrieving the most nested category. It’s because of WooCommerce that they may treat the current one as the child. We simply retrieve the data from the woocommerce database table.
