I have just updated to the new version 2. I am now getting an error when I visit my page. Before I try and do anything I thought I better let you know. I have had that table working for years without a problem and it still displays as it should. But now I get an error message on my browser. I have tried firefox and edge and both give it.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi everyone!

    Thanks for your patience here!

A fix for this (to prevent the error message from being shown, which might be disturbing to your site’s visitors) is now available in TablePress 2.0.1 that I just released. Updating is recommended.

For more details about that release, please see the announcement.

Please note that the proper fix still is to turn off the “Enable Visitor Features” checkbox for tables where you want to use #colspan# or #rowspan# (or to remove these keywords if the Visitor feature are more important).

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

Thanks Tobias, I confirm fixed problem for me. Steve

    Hi Steve,

    great! That’s good to hear!

I have the same error “incorrect column count”. I have turned off visitor features and the error is still there. The page with the issue is https://mightyactor.com/20-best-contemporary-comedic-female-monologues-from-plays/

    I would appreciate your help.

Sorry, I forgot to add. I have turned off visitor features but the table in question has 90 rows and i only want to display 10 rows preferrably with the option for visitors to manipulate the row count as they want. Looking at this thread i understand the common issue is the use of #colspan# and/or #rowspan#. However, I’m not a coder and i don’t know how to see if I have used any of these in order to remove them.

    Thanks again

    Hi @mightyactor,

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

In your case, the cause for this is the ezoic plugin that seems to be inserting ads after about every 50 rows of the table (“ezoic-autoinsert-ad”). This script inserts ads by adding an extra row to the table, which however uses combined/merged cells. This is not compatible with the JavaScript features. You will have to turn this addition of ezoic ads into the table.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hello @tobiasbg

I encounter the same issue, even after updating the plugin to v2.0.4.
    Here is my problematic table:

Header and body columns seem to match though…
    Any idea why ?

    Cheers

    Hi @walravens,

the reason for this is the wrong HTML code in column 6 of row 92, which right now is

    <a href="<p style=color:red;>Inquire with your local supplier</p>

You will need to fix that link HTML code and everything should be fine again.

You might then also want to apply some “Custom CSS” for the styling and colors, see https://tablepress.org/faq/

    Regards,
    Tobias

Solved it, thanks a lot @tobiasbg
