Every so often I get alerts like these from WordFence from several sites:

This email was sent from your website “Phil McKerracher” by the Wordfence plugin.

Wordfence found the following new issues on “Phil McKerracher”.

Alert generated at Tuesday 4th of June 2024 at 02:35:46 PM

See the details of these scan results on your site at: https://www.mckerracher.net/wp-admin/admin.php?page=WordfenceScan

    Medium Severity Problems:

    * The Plugin “Astra Pro” needs an upgrade (4.7.0 -> 4.7.0)…

Obviously it’s not possible to upgrade from version 4.7.0 to 4.7.0! When I visit the site, everything is up to date. What’s going on? Whatever the cause, it should be possible to suppress nonsense warnings like this, surely?

Hi @phil-mckerracher, thanks for reaching out!

This area is currently an active development request as we’re aware scans will sometimes run and detect outdated plugins before auto-updates have had a chance to run (sometimes depending on the quantity of traffic to the site triggering WP Crons). The scan will detect outdated plugins at the start, but by the end of the scan they’re already up-to-date so show the same version numbers as you’ve shown above.

Sometimes setting Wordfence > All Options > Email Alert Preferences > Alert me with scan results of this severity level or greater to “Critical” could reduce alerts that you don’t need to be immediately aware of.

Our changelog is the best place to keep an eye on changes in new plugin versions as we’re unable to update customers on development progress here on the forums.

    Thanks,
    Peter.
