    Hello Tobias.
TablePress – is not just a plugin. This is something more. I want to do a lot with the help TablePress, and tables on the page “All tables” more and more. While the tables that you want to edit are rarely close, and the table you want to edit often – difficult to find. You do not plan to change the page “All tables” that they were formed into groups by category? It would be very convenient.

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

I do have some ideas for a category feature, but at the moment, implementing this is difficult.

I suggest that you add some sort of category name, maybe to the table description. You can then use the search function on the “All tables” screen to find all tables from that category.
Another idea would be to prefix your table IDs with some category identifier (because table IDs can be text and don’t have to be number).
You could then for example have table IDs

    cars-1, cars-2, cars-4
    trees-1, trees-3
    houses-2, houses-5

    and so on.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Thank you Tobias!
I first learned about the prefix ID. But it’s too late too much to change pages. I now put the numbers in front of the tables name, and sort of, but it’s not very nice. Ya think it’s better to do grouping by category. And it would be very nice if the category is collapsible as “accordion”.
That’s my dream. But in general: TablePress – it’s wonderful. Thank you.

    Hi,

yeah, this is a small hidden feature. Maybe I need to make it more visible.

And thanks for those suggestions! I will definitely consider them for the future!

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
