• Hello
    Since installed WordPress, I get very inconsistent TTFB. My backend is also painfully slow (averaging around 10s). I have created a static HTML page to see if it is my hosting provider’s fault, but the static page seems pretty fast. I cleaned up my database from unused plugins, everything is up-to-date, I use LS Cache plugin with litespeed server, I disabled heartbeat.
    Is there a way to analyze TTFB further?

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • When I test the site I get excellent results:
    PageSpeed-> Mobile 97% | Desktop 100%: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Ftotomoto.ch%2F&tab=mobile

    GTMetrix-> Performance 100% | Structure 100%: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/totomoto.ch/ePUgZWCZ/

    If you are having issues with a slow back-end then try disabling all plugins and activating an official WordPress theme (e.g. Twenty-Twenty-One). If you want to avoid impacting the front-end visitors of the site when you test you can use the Health Check plugin, which in Troubleshooting Mode only changes things for logged-in users (e.g. Admins).

    Thanks for the replies but like I stated the TTFB is very inconsistent, sometimes there are good results sometimes very poor (15s-20s). Thanks for the provided link, but I have used the mentioned tutorial already, but couldn’t see any changes.

    I forgot to mention that I changed the Nameserver since it was encouraged by quic cloud. This was done a month ago or so, but if I check my NS with a checker website there are a few Nameservers which show my old NS and some the new and some a mixture of the two.
    Here is a link to an example:
    https://dnschecker.org/#NS/totomoto.ch
    btw. the nameserver also fluctuates between the mentioned possibilities.

    I went over all my plugins again, because I added some. Turns out the plugin “Email Encoder” added 10s TTFB, the plugin “query monitor” added 2s TTFB. Funny enough, Gtmetrix show a lower score than before. And I deactivated ajax cart fragments

    Great to hear you have identified the plugins that were slowing the TTFB. They are usually a good place to start when looking for conflicts.

    @pressiwordi Glad it was sorted ??

    Something I forgot to mention. The DNS propagation is important too. I changed my Nameserver and forgot to delete a remaining old one, which led to weird and inconsistent DNS lookups (sometimes the old ones showed and in a different order). Since I deleted the third, the Nameservers are correctly looked up, and I get way more consistent results. This made the biggest difference for me.
