    after poking around on the forum here it seemed “try the old way” was a common recommendation, so I tried that. It seems more consistent, but still doesn’t always work.

    Update: I managed to get a few people with smart phones to look, and it is indeed not just a mobile tester error, the inconsistency does occur on actual mobile devices. ??

    Mobile detection is based on what the WordPress core is supplying to DW. It’s not 100% safe and will never be. Best methods for responsive design is using the CSS media queries.

    same issue here. Android works well but when I hide things they show up in iphones. Like you said its not 100 percent safe, but how do you use the css media queries to hide things on iphones or safari?
