Incompatible with BackWPUp

  • Hi!
    I can’t upload backups to S3 when this plugin is enabled.

    —–

    Amazon Polly For WordPress version: 1.0.4
    BackWPUp version: 3.4.4

    —–

    When I run a backup job with Amazon Polly enabled, the backup fails when uploading to S3 with the error:
    ERROR: S3 Service API: Missing required client configuration options: version: (string) A "version" configuration value is required.

    If I disable Amazon Polly, the backups run and upload just fine.

    There is no interface for specifying the S3 api version in either plugin.

    How does the Amazon Polly plugin interfere with a separate plugin communicating with S3?

    It seems, that the problem might be on BackWPUp plugin side. Our plugin and this plugin uses AWS SDK, since one of the releases of it, it’s require to provide version parameter in it. We are using it. The plugin is using old SDK version and it’s not providing this parameter. In this case I would say that the problem should be reported to the authors of that plugin, and ask them to update the code according to the latest guidelines.
