Incompatible archive PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Invalid block size : 41

  • I recently upgraded the PHP and Apache on the server to newer version, although they were only slight increment upgrades.

    Since then, I am presented with this error every time I try to automatically upgrade a plugin:

    Incompatible archive PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Invalid block size : 41

    This use to work perfectly fine before, so I’m not sure what has gone wrong here!

    Anyone? I don’t believe no one else has not incurred this problem ?

    I’ve answered my own question ………….

    My ‘mbstring.func_overload’ in php.ini was set to 7

    Setting this value to 0 fixed the problem !
