    Just to let you know, in the next version of the plugin we will actually provide a method of disabling Advanced Excerpt for certain areas of your website, e.g. disabling Advanced Excerpt specifically for search but allowing it run normally for the front page / archives / etc.

    For your case specifically this means that you can have Relevanssi handle the excerpts for search pages while Advanced Excerpt handles the excerpts for the other pages / archives.

    This has been corrected in the latest version of the plugin. There’s now “Disable On” section in the options page that allows you to configure which page types the excerpt filtering will be active on.

    This will allow you to exclude search archives, meaning that Relevanssi can process the excerpts instead.
