Incompatibility with Duplicate Post Plugin

    I found an issue with the Yoast Duplicate Post Plugin: copying of keywords and seo titles doesn’t work any,more with the newest version of AISEO.
    It does not copy the data of the last post drafted, but instead it coppies the data of the last post version BEFORE the new AISEO installation.

    I’ve sent the issue to the Duplicate POst plugin staff and they answered as follows:

    “We’re sorry to see you’re having this problem with the latest version. We reproduced the problem and can confirm that this no longer works out of the box with the latest version of the All in One SEO plugin. All in One SEO seems to have changed the internal way to store information, which breaks the compatibility. That’s probably why it can still duplicate the old titles or keywords but doesn’t duplicate the new ones.

    We suggest contacting the All in One SEO support team to bring back full compatibility with our plugin!”

    Is there a way correct this?

  • Yep this was a deal breaker for me. I cloned lots of pages while doing SEO.

    Pre version 4 worked great with cloning.

    I also contacted support about this a while back when v4 came out:

    I don’t think that there currently aren’t any plugins that support that. The reason for this is that we no longer use WordPress built-in post/term meta tables, but instead use our own custom ones to improve the performance of various features.

    Once the free version of 4.0.0 goes live, I would assume that other 3rd party plugin developers will make their existing plugins with our new architecture compatible and might make this possible again.

    Thank you Martin, I hope some developer shows by and explains a solution. Aiseo shouldn’t work without bothering about other plugins, cause everybody has dozens of them. I will have to change my seo plugin if this problem can’t be solved (and i use aiseo since 2010)

    What’s the deal here? Can the devs of this plugin work with the dev of their plugin? It’s pretty important that the most popular post duplication plugin still works with AIOSEO.

    v4 is breaking/removing too much, that it’s causing lifelong users to abandon it…

    @garconis I doubt the most popular cloning plugin would give any support to AIOSEO, the most popular duplication plugin is owned by Yoast who has their own SEO plugins. So it’s a competitor.

    AIOSEO is trying too hard to be like the Yoast SEO Premium plugin with features like true score etc. The reason AIOSEO was so good because it was not like the Yoast plugin. Now it’s turning into a bloated clone.

    No Dev seems to care about this. At least when I opened th issue in the Duplicate Post forum I got an immediate answer…

    Even a “”there’s nothing we can do” would be appreciated

    Does anyone know of a post duplication plugin that is compatible with All In One SEO rather than the Yoast one?

    We do care about this issue and are looking into whether we can add back support for AIOSEO. I can’t make any promises yet, but we’re actively working on this.

    I opened this issue months ago, but still see there was no solution found.

    Actually I’m still using AISEO and that plugin but it’s extremely difficult. Is there really no way out?

    @nexlaa we had an in-between update that was unplanned as we wanted to get a few improvements and bug fixes out to decrease the “size” of the 4.1.1 update, which is the update that includes support for the Duplicate Post plugin. That one is scheduled for May 18.

    @ank01 we added support for it in AIOSEO 4.1.1.
