The Events Manager 5.4.4. plugin has some incompatibilities with WooCommerce 2.0.12/2.0.13. It breaks the keywords search for products. It still gives search results, but with a lot of errormessages: “Warning: Illegal offset type in isset or empty in…”

Disabling the Events Manager plugin fixes the problem. Switching back to the default theme doesn’t fix anything.

Is there any way to fix this?

have you tried EM 5.4.4.2 dev version?

I don’t have access to that version.

try Events > Settings > General > Admin Tools > click button check dev versions and then go to WP plugins to check for the dev versions.

Hi Angelo, version 5.4.4.2 dev version shows the same problems.

Do you have a link you can share with us?

Could you tell me specifically where you’re experiencing this problem? Do you mean the normal WP search?

    (@tvandervalk)

    The search page is: https://www.concepten.biz/menskracht7/opleidingen-cursussen/
    Resulting in a URL: https://www.concepten.biz/menskracht7/?s=brand&post_type=product
(https://www.concepten.biz/menskracht7/?s=brand works, but also includes posts)

The resulting error message (displayed +/- 8 times) is:
Warning: Illegal offset type in isset or empty in /home/blyxum90/domains/concepten.biz/menskracht7/wp-includes/post.php on line 1094

Switching to “Twenty Twelve” theme doesn’t solve the error message (same problem).

BTW Earlier WooCommerce versions didn’t exhibit this problem. I don’t know which version introduced this problem.

    hi,

I tried to install WooCommerce Version 2.0.13 and using twenty twelve theme/EM dev version 5.4.4.2 but I didn’t experience the issue? also, since everything is working perfectly as expected? and it’s only a warning message you can also try to turn-on php display_error and/or turn-off WP_DEBUG (if enabled)

Thread Starter Tom van der Valk

    (@tvandervalk)

    Hi Angelo,

Are you sure you used the search box of WooCommerce? The WP search box doesn’t give this error message.

WP_DEBUG was already off. I’ll look into what resolution display_error can give.

    Thanks.

hmm, I used “WooCommerce Product Search” widget ?

That’s the right one. When I have time, I’ll rebuild an installation to see if it shows the same problems.

check the theme, it may be your theme search template. my guess is it assumes EM events and locations hsould have normal categories, which isn’t a requirement.

    Hi Marcus,
I already tried “Twenty Twelve”, but it didn’t change a thing.

what about other plugins then? does it help to just run the two plugins toegether?

btw, currently i don’t see any warnings in your example links.

if the issue is still there, maybe worth posting a screenshot of your Evnets > Settings > Pages > Events List/Archives section

so we can maybe reproduce the problem with your setup.

I am having the same problem.

I think it must be related to the custom post type. Since I have products and I believe you do too – I can only guess that my other post types are causing the problem? Do you have other custom post types too?

The other thought I had was that a previously installed e-commerce plugin may be the problem (even though I deactivated it).
