• I used to post Amazon Affiliate links to books that dealt with the subject matter of my posts (a news & media blog), but now the old links don’t even appear, and I have found no way to include these links in my post, where they belong. (No. I am NOT trying to start a bookstore…)

Is there a way I can include this sort of thing with my blog, or has WordPress given up entirely on the idea of turning the platform into a full-fledged CMS?

  • How did you post the links in teh first place?

Yes. And they worked! Now they don’t even appear except as a grey boy in “Visual” post view.

Ummm… I asked how you posted them in the first place. That didn’t tell me anything.

What did you use to set the links up? Did you use a shortcode, some special code, plain HTML, something else?

Could you give us the url so we can check it out?

I took down the code because it wasn’t diplaying, even in the Visual Editor (just a greyed out box where the ad used to be). But I was using the exact code that Amazon gave me from their affiliate site (using <iframe>). It worked for over a year, but it doesn’t work any more.

Now I’d like to learn how to add links to purchase books relevent to specific posts from my Amazon Affiliate account.

Without seeing the code there’s nothing more that we can do then guess. It would also be extremely helpful to see a page with the code on it so that we can see just what’s happening for ourselves.
