include custom post type in daily archive

I’m trying to include custom post type ‘aircraft’ in the day/month/year archive.
clicking on the date of an aircraft leads to 404 (i.e. https://www.spotting.co.il/aircraft/kal-hl7605/)
Following standard solutions found on wp forums doesn’t seem to work
