I had a look at your site, and it seems to use the Mobile Theme right now. Did you manage to solve the issue by yourself?

It’s worth noting that your theme is already responsive and looks good on mobile devices, so you might not need Jetpack’s Mobile Theme module at all.

    Hi Jeremy,

On mobile devices, my custom css changes don’t show unless I click “view full site”. While in mobile mode, it’s the default blue theme.

That’s indeed the expected behaviour as long as Jetpack’s Mobile Theme module is active. If you’d like to see your default theme with the CSS changes on mobile, you’ll need to go to Jetpack > Settings in your dashboard, and deactivate the mobile theme.

Let me know how it goes.

Thank you. So what does ‘Include CSS in mobile theme’ do?

That checkbox allows you to have the custom CSS code you wrote load in Jetpack’s Mobile Theme as well as on your desktop theme. It’s useful when you want to make a few CSSv customizations to the blue mobile theme, for example.

    Hi Jeremy,

Maybe I’m not understanding this properly. I wrote custom css code and checked Include CSS in mobile theme, but none of my css was there. Do I have to write all new css code referencing mobile classes specifically?

    Thanks

That checkbox is only useful if you use Jetpack’s Mobile Theme module (the theme with the blue header), and if you want to customize the look of that blue theme. If that’s the case, you will indeed need to write CSS that targets classes matching the Mobile Theme.

If you don’t use Jetpack’s Mobile Theme module, you don’t need to worry about that checkbox: your custom CSS will always be loaded, on all devices.

I hope this clarifies things a bit. If you still have some doubts, do not hesitate to tell me what you’d like to customize exactly, and I’ll help!
