Include both an images gallery and some standalone images in same post?

    My post has 8 images. However at the top of the post I want to place 2 images directly in the post as I write. Then at the bottom I want to include the gallery of the 6 other images.

    I seem to be able to only do one or the other, but not both together in the same post. Is there a way around this?
