No alternative text has been found for this PNG file. I checked and added the text for the file, but for some reason, it’s not active. Could you please help me with this?

    Hi,

if your image has already been added to your post content, WordPress will not update the alt text newly added from the media library.

You have to add the image again or edit the alt text from your post content.

    This will solve your issue.

Does editing the Alternative Text, Caption, and Description of jpg/png files from the MEDIA tab not affect SEO?

Does this mean the only way to edit jpg/png images is from the POST tab? I use WP Bakery Page Builder. Is there a way to edit images using WP Bakery Page Builder? If editing is only possible from the POST page, I can’t see any space to do this except through HTML coding.

Could you help me with the following:

    How to edit existing pages.
How to efficiently manage this for future posts when building them.

“Does editing the Alternative Text, Caption, and Description of jpg/png files from the MEDIA tab not affect SEO?” -> yes it does of course (the alt text especially).

About your editing images, this is how WordPress works (this is not related to SEOPress to be clear).

    You have 2 options:

    • if you image has already been added with your page builder, you have to edit the alt text from your page builder. If you do this from the media library, it’s also a good idea the next time you add it again to another post.
    • if you have uploaded an image from the Media library, and it’s not already added into a post content, then you can edit the alt text from the media library. When adding it to a post content, you will automatically have the updated alt text.

This free ebook can also help you to optimize your images for SEO:

    Hope that helps!
