In-text citations not working

  • Hi,
    I want to use the Zotero Plugin for blog posts, however, the in-text citation is not working. It is only creating a spinning wheel, but the in-text citation does not appear. Creating the full bibliography (based on a collection) works fine.

    Can anyone help with this issue?

  • I would like to second this problem, as a n00b. The full citation shortcode works wonderfully!

    I had the same problem but finally found where I was going wrong.

    In the FAQs it says:
    “I’m trying to use an in-text citation, but I’m just getting a spinning wheel.
    Make sure you’ve placed a [zotpressInTextBib] somewhere below the in-text shortcode(s) on the same page.”

    I didn’t follow this at first. It is slightly awkward, but basically you need to place the [zotpressInTextBib] shortcode somewhere after the in-text citation. This gives a place for the in-text citation to link to the expanded citation at the end of the article.

    It helps me! I’ll post again when I figure out where the FAQ is and trying to mimic your “slightly awkward,” which for a n00b like me, will likely be much more.

    Here’s my take. Make sure you’re in code editor mode and paste something like this at the bottom of the post:

    [zotpressInTextBib style=”apa” sort=”ASC”]

    no more spinning wheels…
