Before updating to 1.9.7.8, pingbacks from one post to another on my site appeared as I wanted them to. After updating to the latest plugin version, the pingbacks no longer appear. Deactivating the plugin allows the pingbacks to return. There is no email associated with the pingbacks, so I can’t figure out how to whitelist my internal site pingbacks.

(I tried to file this on your support form, but clicking the Send button just resulted in a spinning circle.)

    Hi jdcarlson,

I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re having, but I’ll be happy to help. That’s strange, as the plugin already whitelists internal site pingbacks.

Regarding the WP-SpamShield Support page, please clear your browser cache and submit your request again. You should have no problem. Once we get your support request, we’ll be happy to look into it for you and see what the issue is.

Please note that the WP-SpamShield Support page is our main support venue, not the WordPress forums here, so that will always be the best way to get a quick response and resolve any tech support issues.

I am surprised you marked this resolved when the problem still exists. However, your support page did work for me this time, so I submitted the request there.

    Hi jdcarlson,

We marked it resolved here, because there are no more steps for us to take here at the www.remarpro.com forums.

As noted in my response above, this is not our main support venue. Keep in mind that WordPress plugin developers are not obligated in any way to provide support, but yet we voluntarily provide some of the best support out there. (See the plugin reviews.)

It’s really not possible to provide the best support here at the forums because real site debugging involves getting into the technical aspects, which you wouldn’t want to be published publicly on a forum. That’s why the WP-SpamShield Support page is our main support venue. We’ll follow up with you primarily there from here on out.

    Don’t worry…we’re taking care of you. ??
