For some reason, the classic editor is adding two double quotes for every one double quote. I tried the block editor i code view and it seems to work. I still like the classic version. Should I re-install it?

The inline CSS seems to work just fine, if it’s not displaying in your browser, try clearing cache and hard reloading. Below image reflects the changes you’ve done using inline CSS.

Regarding the editor I’ll advise you to work with block editor, i.e Gutenberg editor as this editor is here to stay unlike classic editor.

The classic editor adds a extra set of quotes i the i line style. The block editor works.
