After updating to WordPress 4.0, I noticed that the editor no longer recognizes line breaks while setting up a List

    Example:

    Item 1
    Item 2
    Item 3

When all items are highlighted and the “li” button in HTML mode is clicked, the following shows:

    • Item 1
      Item 2
      Item 3

Previously, it would format things properly as below:

    • Item 1
    • Item 2
    • Item 3

  • Nobody has any feedback on this issue??? I can confirm it happens for me as well.

I don’t know if it is related, but I am also having trouble “listing” within a plugin that uses <br/> as a line break to “list.” WP editor is now saving this tag as <br /> (with a space) in this plugin – rendering it useless.

After using WP 4.0 for a number of days now, I’ve found that this issues is a lot deeper than previously thought. Sometimes the editor thinks the whole post should be within the “li” items…its a real challenge to post anything that uses “ul” or “ol”.

Any feedback as to a fix for this bug would be nice.

Sadly 4.0.1 does not fix this problem.

Does nobody use lists? Very frustrating…

These forums are largely for support, not really for reporting bugs (it’s easy for things to get lost here). Since you have identified a reproducible issue, and assuming it’s still an issue in WordPress 4.1, would you please report it following this guide?

Thanks, I have now done this.
