    Hi,
I am new to WordPress and I am guessing that this issue is something to do with the Media Library Folders plugin (which is a great plugin and seems a much better way to organise pictures than the default system in WordPress.)
Most of the websites I have on a Windows 2012 server have 10 to 40 pages and not that many pictures apart from a couple which have hundreds even many thousands of pictures.
I am in the process of moving the sites from a Windows 2012 server to a new Ubuntu server.
I have ironed out most of the issues but this is the latest to rear its head.
I have moved a Guest Equestrian (but I have not changed the DNS settings yet) and in edit mode I can see the pictures all looks fine but when I publish a page or the page is not in edit mode the pictures do not display.
The first time this happened on a different website I fixed it by going in to the html code and removing the ‘class=”wp-image-***” ‘ and that enabled the picture to appear. If I change the browser window size the picture remains responsive.
Therefore a bit of a hack but a fix no less.
However, I suspect that there must be a “better” fix than just removing the reference to class=”***”
Any suggestion on how one can move a site from one server to another and not have to remove the class reference. I am guessing that pulls through a different size version of the picture should the browser prefer that.
    Many thanks
    Charles

I would have to access the pages where the images are appearing to understand what is going on. But for a more general answer, the best practice for Media Library Folders when moving a site, is to first deactivate the plugin and activate the Media Library Folders reset plugin that comes with Media Library Folders perform a database reset to clear the existing folder data. Then move the site to its new environment. Once the site is running and images are appearing as they should activate Media Library Folders and it will collect the folder data from its new environment and should function normally.

When moving a site from one server to another and before activating Media Library Folders, it is necessary to update media files URLs with a plugin such us Better Search and Replace.

Alan many thanks for taking time to provide such a detailed reply. I have only just seen it when I came back to post an update to my post.
I noticed that in Media Library Folders plugin there is a reset option (next to the recycle bind) and clicking a folder to highlight it and then select all images and click the Regenerate thumbnail images and that fixes the problem pictures.

My only contribution is thumbnail is missing the b in thumb.

I have some more websites to move I will try your method as I have started off moving the sites with the fewest pictures / pages.
In my case I am only moving the website from a Windows 2012 server to a new Ubuntu site with the same domain names i.e. all the urls are intended to remain the same.

This is a great plugin I highly recommend.
