• I wanted provide a warning about this plugin. A client I have has been working with has used this plugin for years. As stated in other reviews, since being acquired by Zillow.com, the plugin updates have “not played nice with others”. Using a theme designed specifically for this plugin, the dsIDXpress plugin stopped working after the last update. Diverse solution suggested we deactivate all plugins and switch to Twenty Sixteen,… then the plugin worked.

The following is from their support: “Previously you stated that you activated the default Twenty Sixteen WordPress theme with our plugin and now our plugin is working. The default theme is a good indication that the issue is related to the theme and not the plugin. In your previous email you indicated that the THEME is designed to work with IDX Press. In this case when the theme is in the same environment as the plugin, the plugin does not work as the theme indicated. You will want to reach out to the THEME developer to have them take a look into this issue.”

“Unfortunately, we are not the theme developers and are unable to support all of the themes out there. I can send this up on our side however, please do keep in mind that this issue will not be a priority due to the issue not being related to our plugin.” — Diverse Solutions Support

  • Hello 1mgbdesign,

The part that needs to be understood here is that “themes designed to work with dsIDXpress” were NOT designed by Diverse Solutions. Thus, we do not have any control over the theme or any issues that may be associated with it, unfortunately.

While we do our best to help customers, there’s simply no way for us to help resolve issues that exist outside the parameters of our plugin. It is the responsibility of developers who create themes that integrate dsIDXpress to ensure they continue to function properly.

This plugin seems to be incompatible with many things. I can’t use it with my client’s very recently built theme, and it also is incompatible with many popular plugins. Furthermore, it runs so slow on my client’s site that the hexagon spins for around 15 seconds when you go to an individual listing page. They tried to blame it on the fact that the page’s images aren’t optimized, but there are only two images on the page. It’s not my images; it’s your plugin. In the process of testing out iHomeFinder for my client.
