In 2.1 default post category not working

    I’ve upgraded to 2.1 and everything works fine except Default post category. It has not captured the default category from the previous install, and no matter what I do, it will not save a default category. Is there any issue with this, any similar problems?

    When Writing a Post no default category will be checked if that is what you are referring to.

    Can you add categories?

    Can you assign categories to posts and links?

    Did your database tables get updated? Match them against Database Description.

    The checked category is actually what I require, I sort my posts based on categories. In 2.0 the default category was always checked. Has this now changed in 2.1?

    All my categories are functional. When I select a category and post, it is saved. I can add categories. But when I go to Option > Writing and save the Default Category, it is not there when I make a new post. Otherwise nothing else has been updated since the 2.1 upgrade. in 2.0, the default cateogy was always selected. under Manage > Categories the category is listed as default.
