• Hi Brevo Support,

We use your plugin on several pages.

We are missing certain functions for the forms, for Js and for the submit function. Among other things, we would like to add a custom honey pod to the forms.

Is it possible for you to make your plugin hookable, i.e. to set better actions and filters, which would allow us to customize the plugin for us and our customers.

If you don’t have the capacity, we would make a pull request, but I need to know if our project suits you?

An example would be a do_action in the file sendinblue.php line 815.
    example:

        do_action( 'sendinblue_form_additional_fields' );

    Best Regards

    Hello Sebastian,

Thanks for your mail. Currently, it’s not possible to make some pull requests to our plugin, but I’ll pass it to our Product team for a better improvement of our processus.

I remain at your disposal for any information.

    Best Regards,

    Alexis

That’s a nice thing to say, but I’ve read through the tickets from the last few years and the requests for improvement don’t seem to have been received or implemented by the product team.

This concerns our wish for better SPAM protection, the wish of developers to incorporate best practice WordPress things such as hooks and actions.

After reviewing your plugin, we have noticed various errors, ranging from security, program errors, structural errors and bad practices for A11y .

Since you do not accept merge requests, we are forced to either wait for your GodWill, fork and ultimately do double work or change the service.

These are all things that, in my opinion, are unnecessary if Open Source is practiced properly.

    Best Regards

I’d like to add my 2 cents here and say I totally agree with Sebastian.

This plugin lacks many useful features that could be added by the community. It does not provide a javascript callback after a successful registration and there is no way to change the loading spinner nor removing the disappearing animation on the success message. It is very frustrating not being able to contribute. As Sebastian said, we have to wait for the “Product team” to make a move, which will probably never happen looking at all the unresolved threads. Also many of the threads are marked as resolved (like this one) despite not being actually resolved.

I don’t blame you for not having the time to deal with every feature requests. That is exactly why you should open the project to contributions.
