Improve on search function

Hi. First thanks for this wonderful plugin. I am using it to show handpicked related posts in WordPress posts using taxonomy. The taxonomy mostly categories. However, when using the search function in the widget generated below the editor, I find it does not show exact search terms as the inbuilt WordPress search does. I have to jump through other filters like narrowing down on taxonomy or scrolling through the whole list of search terms shown. Is there a way to simplify this search function? I am afraid that it will become tiresome in future as my content grows and posts increase to hundreds or thousands.
