The plugin does not migrate an exact copy. The imported site is still saving folders and plugins from before the import.

If you do not want the site to be merged with the backup, you can install a fresh copy of WordPress and then import the wpress archive.

Yes sure, maybe a feature to merge/fresh migration option on the import would be useful to skip the step for us to reset WP?

Yes, it is a feature that has been often requested. There are a few plugins in the repository that offer this functionality. You could give them a try.
Initially, the plugin used to clean the source site but over time, more and more people requested to preserve some of the content and so we made the switch.
There are also some plugins that are necessary for WordPress to function, they are usually installed by the hosting provider themselves and deleting these plugins would cause the site to stop function.

Okay but an option would be nice, and the default is set to merge.

Plugins I wouldn’t say but maybe some configs would be required.

Okay, for now, I will delete the app and deploy a new staging and then push.
