It may fail if Excel can’t log into your website to get the data. This might happen if you changed your password or set up WP to require additional information for login.

I would try creating a new IQY export file, open that with Excel. It should prompt for user name and password.

    Hello Michael,
thank you for your suggestion but I have tried it already.
When creating a new Excel Internet Query I am asked for name and password but then a dialog box appears saying it is impossible to export.
    Thank you for support ??

Does it literally say “it is impossible to export” in an Excel dialog?

    It says:
    Unable to open
    https://….
Cannot download the information you requested.

I have tried it, but no results.
I have also tried to use IE instead of Chrome, but it does not change anything.

    Try this:

In your excel that has loaded the .iqy file:

    1. Data tab -> Connections. Should show the “Workbook Connections” dialog with an entry for your form.
    2. Select you entry, click Properties, opens a Connection Properties dialog
    3. Click Definitions tab, Edit Query… Open a browser window with your site’s login page.
    4. Login. You should see your form data in a table
    5. Click Import
    6. Click OK, Close to exit dialogs

    Hi Michael.

First up, congratulations on a fantastic plugin.

I’m experiencing the same issue; for some unknown reason, my .iqy file refuses to connect correctly – having been fine for several months.

I’ve managed to download data using the fix you describe above (via Data tab > Connections..)

However, when I reopen the file and refresh the sheet, all data is lost. Do you know if there is a workaround for this?

Many thanks for any help you might be able offer.

I find that it works in Excel on Windows for me, but not on Mac. I’m not sure what I can do about that.

    Hi Michael.

Thanks for your reply; it’s very much appreciated.

I’m working on Excel on Windows PC not Mac, and have not had any issues previously.

I’ve since noticed that in another site I run, there are no problems when I export and open the .iqy file.

The only difference is that this site has version 2.10.5 of the plugin installed, and the site that has been throwing up some issues is running version 2.10.20.

Is the simplest solution just to roll back to a previous version of CFDB, or is there anything else to try?

Many thanks in advance for any help you might be able to offer.

I don’t think there is anything since 2.10.5 that would impact .iqy export. You should try installing the older version to verify your hypothesis and let me know.

    Hi Michael,
Thank you so much for the amazing work.
I’m very much inclined to support the hypothesis of @philhambley
I’ve exactly the same situation on two different websites with different versions.
The website with version 2.9.15 is working fine. The other one with version 2.10.21 is giving errors with Excel Internet Query.
Please consider this seriously while debugging this.
    Thank you so much ??
    Not Working Version: 2.10.21
    Working Version: 2.9.15

    Here too on 2.10.22

In my case I’ve never had it working as I’, relatively new to the plug-in, but I get the same error message.

Would be great to have this working as my main user is not familiar enough with WP etc to easily login and grab the data.

    Thanks
    Stuart
