• Hello everyone,

I have got an issue with Maps Builder extention.
Today I set this extention (API and other stuff), it works.
When I come back on my website and try to choose a placemark Google do nothing.
Normally when I start to write “FR” google propose me the localisation “France”.
And if I write “France” Google do nothing, even if I tap on the keyboard “Enter” I have a message (“Autocomplete’s returned place contains no geometry”).
I don’t know what can I do. I already use this extention for another website and I never have this issue.

    Waiting for your return

    Margaux

    HI there,

I’ve seen this behavior sporatically over the last week or so. I believe it’s a problem on Google’s side, that the API is not communicating reliably. Because I’ve seen it do that, and then 10 minutes later everything is fine. So double-check for me to see if you get that behavior consistently.

Also, make sure that your API key has BOTH the Places API enabled and the Maps JS API enabled. Both are necessary for this to work.

Lastly, there might be another plugin causing this for you. Please deactivate all plugins besides Map Builder. If it works as expected then re-activate each plugin one at a time until you see the problem again. Then let us know which plugin caused the error and we’ll dig into it.

Let me know what you find. Thanks!

    Hi Matt,

I know who were the problem.
It’s on the project with the API.
Even if I follow the tutorial video I have got an issue on the project and the API.

I choose the same API for my other website.
Do you know where I could do something wrong ?

    Waiting your words.

I would suggest creating a new API key for every different website for a couple reasons:

    1) Google caps the number of times you can hit the API per day. If you share your API in multiple places and you reach that cap then you’ll cripple all the sites using that API.
    2) Different projects have different API needs. One might just need Maps, others also the Places or Directions, or Geocoding… separation is better.
