  • Hi, I ran ran into the same problem recently, now that I am using the current version of both WordPress and your Plugin. I my case the error only appears when I am using the classic editor.

After starting debugging it, i had this error:

“An invalid form control with name=’venue[URL][]’ is not focusable.

I guessed that it must have something to do with the control panel and a parsing error there.

My current Workaround is to temporarily change Event-category or Event-Venue in this control panel, let it load and than change it back. After I have done that updating or saving the event works.

Well, it’s not perfect, because I have to do this every time I want change something. Hope thats helps and this bug is solved in the next update.

Hi, I have the same update problem for any event. Only Workaround is to delete the event and create it new. The Workaround from @omako is not working for me because the little spinninn cicle will not stop to spin beside the update button.

    Hi there!

Thanks for letting us know about this issue.

We’re currently investigating this problem that seems to be browser specific.

Could you please let us know which browser, version and operating system you are on where you see the issue happening?

Also, have you tried a different browser?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

thank you all for share your experiences.
Victor, in my case I get the issue when I work on Safari version 16.1 (18614.2.9.1.12) macOS 13.0.1 (22A400), but actually I have tried to use Chrome and works, I can save and change the events.

    Thank You

I hope it can be useful for all of us

Hi everyone, apologies for the inconvenience here. We were able to pinpoint that specific browser shows Javascript Errors within the Venue Section, in the admin dashboard not allowing to update the Events. We already created an internal bug ticket for this, and I added your case. Thanks for all the details. I will definitely pass it along to our devs.

I am unable to provide an exact date or time estimate for when this bug will be fixed, but you’ll be notified when there are any updates.

For now, as a workaround, you could do the following:

    1. Use Chrome Browser only for Admin Dashboard
    2. Or, Downgrade to version 6.0.2. Accessing and Installing Older Plugin Versions

    Best,
    Abz

    Another workaround is to:
    – Remove the venue.
    – Make changes and Update (which will work)
    – Put the venue back in and Update (which should also work)

    Hi there,

    We’re back with good news,

Our developers have just released the Events Calendar version 6.0.7, which addresses the issue of events which have venues assigned not being able to be updated successfully on some browsers.

Please update your Events Calendar plugin to include that and other improvements over your website.

    Best regards,
