Importing WXR > 7mb

    I wanted to move to a new domain but only wanted the posts and comments to start pretty fresh.

    I exported my database via export and got a 19mb xml file. Pretty good.

    Now, in the new installation I go to Import and it tells me the max size to import is 7mb…

    HELP!

    Maybe I can export the stuff in parts but the menu does not give me this option. Maybe I can change the author for each year via sql, then do an export per author and then an import per xml file? Anyone has experience with this?

    So I dont want to use mysql export, change the host name and then import via mysql

    I’ve been thinking about it. When I would split the XML file from WordPress Export in multiple parts would it work? What fields would be required in each of the parts as part of the header?

    If that would work an auto split tool would be easy to write.
