Importing WordPress WXR entries to WP hosted blog

I have installed the plugins provided by a very very helpful person here: https://www.technosailor.com/wordpress-to-wordpress-import/ and I have been trying to import my WP.com entries but my import screen in the WP.org admin always results in a white blank page, and Ive checked my php my Admin posts and everything else and the entries cant seem to get uploaded. I requested my WP blog to installed by install4free (thanks very much) so Im pretty scared to mess up with my database. Is there a way for me to upload the XMR file by FTP? To which folder? SHould I divide my exported WP.com XMR files so I can upload them in small batches? How do I do it? Sorry for the many questions. Thanks for the help!
