Importing Users to a New WordPress Install

Hey there. I’m trying to import my blog from one WordPress site to another. I exported my posts using the export tool. It created an xml file. Then when importing them, I was prompted with the question that said, “Who would you like to import this as? Admin, new account, or the author that created it?” I selected my old account, and it appeared to bring over. However, when I tried logging into it, I couldn’t.

Is it possible to just bring over WordPress users like this? Or do I have to do something else? (or is it just simply the password needs to be reset once you import an account?)
