I got the same problem and after downgrading to the old version, it’s working well.

They made this so we all pay for an “import from file” premium option that was available for free.

This is the last time I use this plugin for backup/restore. This is truly shady business.

I was importing a very important project for a customer and finding out that I just lost the basic import function just because they decided to make it premium is not nice.

As it is now, the last version is pretty much USELESS for a backup/restore as you have to pay for everything.

What is worst, they did this on purpose making it seems like a bug when it’s not. THey should clearly state that the import process is not working anymore unless you pay. At least code it properly or make it a truly premium plugin, which should be a lot better since that way you don’t have to trick anyone and so we won’t waste valued time trying to fix something it was broken on purpose.

You will need to roll back to an earlier version of this plugin. This version will allow you to upload backups of up to 12GB.

Just clone the repo, zip up the folder, and upload it as a plugin.

IMPORTING GOT STUCK FOR ME TOO

Restoring it from previously uploaded FTP solved it for me:

For me nothing worked but the mix of @trevoruptain and @nitro12345 suggestion. Thanks for you two!

    @papireper Exactly!!
@trevoruptain @nitro12345 Thanks for sharing. It really save my day.

I got the same problem, tried rolling back (can’t go past 7.2), tried to download the 6.76 file, tried to use the migration file extension.

Any other suggestion I could try ? Or another plugin working the same way I could use ?

    Thanks

Create a backup. Then copy the backup to your new site folder Awi_backups (something like that). Then restore the backup from new site backend. I have found that the import feature has failed to work on any versions anymore. Not sure what AIO has done, but that have made their plugin a complete failure.

Thank you so much @trevoruptain It works fine for me.

I can believe it is march 2020 & the latest version just crapped on me at 100%.

can’t believe i am still using that old roll-back plugin

Here is the same issue. When I import any file this message is shown up.
    Anyone can help me.

    Unable to import
Unable to open file for reading. File: C:\Bitnami\wordpress-5.3.2-3\apps\wordpress\htdocs\wp-content\plugins\all-in-one-wp-migration\storage\

This is just a scam. They frustrate the life out of you, deliberately, so you will upgrade to the paid version.
Typical and should not be allowed on the WP platform due to sharp tactics.

    7.20 works great
