Importing Posts/ Pages/Images from another site

I’ve used the plugin in the past and it has been great. I find myself in a different situation. Normally when I update a website I do a full backup, install it in another directory and use Velvet Blues. No problems.

This time, not thinking I did a clean install and imported just the posts/pages/attachments. However it did not import the images at all. So I did what I though would would work. I just FTP’d the images to my uploads folder but they are not in my media library.

Will Velvet Blues not only change the URL but move them to the media library? There are many images I don’t want moved just those being used in the posts. Lots of images from the old design I don’t care about which is why I started with a clean install.

Am I better off just deleting them and just using Velvet Blues> Somehow I don’t think that will work since the images need to be in the Upload folder. As you can tell, I’m confused.

And I thought starting with a clean database would be easier.
