Importing posts from excel?

Looking for some help on a little issue that I have. I’ve got an old website that has an ancient news story database in Access. I need to find a way to import those items into WordPress.

I actually went through and converted it to the same layout/formatting as the wp_posts table, but then I was reading that WP refers to other tables for each post.

So is there another solution than trying to drop the data in? Or is that the best option?

I’m going to end up having to do this for other websites down the road so I figured I may as well ask. Any help would be hugely appreciated.
