• Hi, great work with the plugin.

I’m trying to merge 2 sites for one of my clients and used the WordPress exporter/importer to get the pages from one into the other.

The pages were created correctly, and correctly assigned as being handled by Elementor. However, the imported page is all messed up. Even if I try to copy the HTML in the classic view, the page on the destination site continues without its formatting.

Looking at the source code, all of the elementor classes seem to have gotten stripped.

How can I successfully copy an Elementor page from one site to another?

    Cheers,
    Vinny

Here’s an update on the issue. I managed to work around the problems by going to the original site, saving the page as a template, exporting it, and then injecting it into a new section on the new site’s page (opting to override the page settings).

After the injection, I’d delete the old sections. The interesting part, however, is that sometimes when I injected the template into a new section, the existing sections would then show up correctly as well.

I hope that helps in the troubleshooting.

    Cheers,
    Vinny

I just used All-in-One WP Migration to move my whole site from one account to another.
I use Elementor and OceanWP. Quick and no problems at all.

    Hi Vinny,

When you are trying to “merge” two seperate sites into one, the saving pages from one site as a template and importing that template into a new clean page is the way to go.

Ofcourse both sites need to have the same plugins that where used in the other site.
For Elementor to “know” what template to use in the new site, that template needs to be in that sites database. That only happens when you import an Elementor template.

    Hope this clarifies it?

    Hi

Was told you can save a page by doing the following:

go to the page and edit with elementor.
Next to the Save/update button there is a small arrow button. Click that.
    Now click save as template.
    Give the template a name.
Now go to the wp dashboard and go to my templates.
Export the page template you just made.

On the new site go to the my templates section and import the page template you made.

That’s is the procedure used but the template is being saved with the default header and footer although the page created with elementor canvas as base template and display as expected! Tried a number of times but each time if template is viewed the header and footer show as part of the page.
