To bulk import whole directory trees with photos, do the following:

    – Go to the Photo Albums -> Import Photos admin screen
    – Verify that the Select Local or Remote selection box reads Local. If not, change it to Local and press the Set Local/Remote button.
    – Verify likewise tha Import photos from is set to — My depot —
    – Near the bottom of the screen it reads something like:
    Your depot directory is: …/wp-content/wppa-depot/username/
    – Now, use an FTP program to transfer the entire directory tree, no matter how deep or wide, to your depot directory.
    – Refresh the Import Photos screen.
    – You should now see one or more directories listed in the box with the header: There are .. albumdirectories in the depot.
    – Make sure the checkbox(es) in front of the directory names is/are checked.
    – Press the Import button.
    – Every approx 30 seconds the page will be refreshed reporting what has been done, and showing a green box with the text ‘Trying to continue…’
Albums will be created automaticly with the names of the directories; the processed files will be removed from the depot.
Wait patiently intil the process finishes. If – for some reason – the process does not auto continue and you are really sure it stopped, you may press the Import button again.
Eventually, the directories will be removed entirely from your depot, and from the Import screen.
You will find the albums with the photos in the Photo Albums -> Album Admin page.
