Importing LOTS of images into Media Library

Is it possible to import a LOT of images, which are already organized into subfolders, into Media Library, and keep the same folder structure?

I’m trying out some plugins, like Enhanced Media Library, Media Library Folders, etc, but they’re either oriented toward managing the files that are already IN Media Library, or don’t work (like Media From FTP, which just sits there forever at 0% while scanning folders).

What I’m looking for is: a solution to import about 3,000 images, organized by folders, and somehow keep them organized in Media Library – preferably as actual folders, but worst case scenario, converting source folder to tag or category.

I copied the images to /uploads/ via FTP, but Media Library still doesn’t see them :/
