    Hi Matthew,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Yeah, importing links is still a problem at the moment. The reason for that is that they have a different format internally in Excel, compared to what is needed on the web (HTML code). The current available import formats in TablePress can not yet automatically detect that, but I’m hoping that I can make this possible with the (currently still “experimental”) Excel import formats.
Meanwhile, you could try the HTML format, i.e. save your table to an HTML file and then try importing that. If that does not help, you’ll need to re-add your links in TablePress manually — if your links have a link text. If it’s just about making URLs clickable, you can use this TablePress Extension: https://tablepress.org/extensions/automatic-url-conversion/

    Regards,

Thanks Tobias, for the quick reply.

Unfortunately, the Wise Ones from our dear friends in Redmond have decided to implement the HTML conversion as a series of JavaScript functions that Tablepress is not fond of. So while the table renders great in a browser, it is not a exactly a <table> </table> kind of mechanic.

The problem is that the URL information is not preserved on the import. The link-description transfers just fine.

I have 40 or so links to move manually — it’s a slog.

    Best,
    -Matt

    Hi Matt,

yes, the HTML that Excel produces is really sick in some places ??

I just remembered another idea: Some users have had success with a small Excel macro that generates the HTML code for links in the Excel spreadsheet:
