    Hi,

Question 1: If I upload images from the media library, doesn’t it take up more space on the server? What I mean is, does the gallery then use the images from the media library or does it still save them in an additional location, creating duplicate images on the server?

Question 2: Is it possible that when I add photos to the gallery directly from the computer there are errors in loading thumbnails, and when I add them from the media library the problem disappears?

    Greetings ??

    Hi @jakub017,

NextGen comes with a very complex image management system that differs from how WP Media works and respectively, it needs to copy the WP Media images to the gallery directory then it’ll create its own resized versions out of that. If you plan on using these images with NextGen only, you can directly upload them from your PC to NextGen.

As for the issues while uploading from PC compared to importing from WP Media, I’d check to if uploading less images or images of a lower resolution works. It can be due to a server RAM overflow or perhaps the images have exceeded the maximum resolution that PHP GDlibrary can process.

NextGen will likely import images of a smaller resolution from WP Media so that can explain why it worked.
