• Hello – I’m in the process of merging internal (intranet) WordPress sites and started testing this plugin as an option to move over images after I discovered they weren’t coming across when I did the import.

I am running the import on a local version of the site so I’m running it using XAMPP.

When I try the import, I get a message saying “No images imported – you might want to check whether they still exist!” for each post.

I noticed another question here where someone realized that was a permission error. I tested the local site to see if I was able to add an image and I was able to do that so I don’t think this is a permissions-related problem.

I’m wondering if there is a reason the plugin wouldn’t be able to import images from a site that is not publicly available even when it’s running locally on a computer that is able to reach that site.

    Thanks for your help.

It may depend on the url of the local install with the external image. If it is not in a something.com/url format, but rather a localhost/something/ format, that could be why.
