• Hi…I am new and didnt see this posted

I am a blogger person. I recently converted to blogger beta to try out their ‘labels’…found out that doesnt work right and now am here

I have succesfully installed WP onto a new domain and tried the import feature. but it wont log into my blogger account

I suspect it has to do with bloggerbeta which now uses gmail account as login and you login at a dif address

am I SOL or will the import feature work with the new blogger?

  • Yeah, I’m a Beta refugee. Moving to WordPress is quite possibily the best thing I’ve ever done.

Hopefully this import transfer will work out, because I hated the idea of leaving some of my Blogger posts behind.

aagghh what a nightmare. Every topic I find, point to the webbleyou.com site that is gone now. I REALLY wish I could go back to the non-beta version of blogger now. =(

I guess they didn’t offer you a rollback option, huh? That’s sad, and tacky on google’s part….

    /feeds/posts/full?alt=rss&max-results=1000

In this case the number 1000 is some arbitrarily large number that will cover your entire blog history. Also, using full instead of default makes sure the blog includes the full text, not a synopsis,

This is very strange, first of all the rss hack worked but only imported 25 most recent posts.

Then I used the =1000 trick and it imported 75 posts.

After that I used =400 (there’s roughly 377 posts in total in blogger beta) and it imported 100 most recent posts.

How do I import the full 377 posts? Thanks.

I’ve noticed the same thing. I can only import the last 100 posts.

Does anyone have a solution? Maybe it’s just a simple bug.

photopoppy’s method just worked pretty well for me with anorling’s add-on. thanks folks!

Hi all, I’m another blogger refugee who has downloaded WP to my local comp so I can get to know it. Google is putting pressure on those who use FTP publishing to switch over to beta. They have even disabled the ability to publish via email from your own site. I have been unable to send email for a week now, so I am changing over to WP. And may I say, what a helpful community WP has and I look forward to becoming a part of it.

    Navie:

    Try this URL instead:

    …/posts/full?alt=rss&max-results=100&start-index=1

This gives you the latest 100 posts in an RSS feed. Then you can up the start-index number like so:

    …/posts/full?alt=rss&max-results=100&start-index=101

To get the next 100. And so on.

Thanks Otto. I’ll give that a shot.

    None of this works.

    Any ideas…?

Wish I had never gone to Blogger Beta.. I just want wordpress ??

Ha! At least I wasn’t able to import from old blogger so it’s not like I lost anything.

I was able to import most of a friend’s blog from the Blogger Beta using the exact method I talk about 3 posts up from this one. It works fine.

Now, the titles were wrong in his case, because Blogger cuts them off at certain lengths in the RSS feed, but that was a minor point.

I’m afraid that none of the above methods will work for me. I was about to import the files from the original blogger when another person switched the blog to Beta and now I’m screwed.

For me, the blog is 1600 entries long and it’s very important that I maintain the original urls. Can anyone offer another solution that will keep the original URLs in tact without having to go through 1600 and change them by hand?

    Please help!

To the best of my knowledge, this is not possible. WordPress uses an entirely different system for permalinks.
