Importing error “Connection Timeout”

  • hello,
    I was trying to import a media XML file to my WordPress installation (file size: 1.5mb), but I got timeout error message! I want to know if it is possible to import the XML file without downloading attachment then move the attachment manually using FTP or else?

  • I believe by default the export tool will not include your attachments (unless it got fixed recently, since this was an issue for years).

    Do you have access to the source site? You could always use a plugin like Updraft Plus to create a backup of just the database and import that into the new site using the same plugin.
