Importing customized product in wordpress/ woocommerce using the UI

Hello all,
I am a new wordpress user using woocommerce, also it might be relevant to mention that I am not able to use any paid plugins.
I need to add custom descriptor fields to the product page and in turn have those new fields mappable to the CSV importer. This way I can import custom data directly form an old database that does not share common product fields with woocommerce. I was wondering if anyone would be able to show or tell me how to set up such mappable fields in the UI?

Thank you very much for the help. I am stuck after the first part though. I can now get the new fields to show up in the woocommerce front end now, however I cannot get the newly created fields to actually populate onto the product page (woocommerce/flatsome) as informational fields. Can you point me in the right direction?
To confirm: All of the code from the first part of that tutorial went into the functions.php file of my child theme.
