Importer adding xml file to media library

I am able to upload the xml file, Assign Authors, when I click submit I then get a 404 error page on the front end of the site.
No page, or posts are added to the site, but when I look in my media library, there is one or two images added, and the xml wordpress file!
Thoughts?
