Imported WordPress Site into New Install of Multisite now Media Doesn't Show

    Here is the info. I’m in the process of changing hosts, and while in that process I’m also attempting to move all my individually ran WP sites Exported and Imported into a single Multisite WP. Just about everything is working flawlessly except for my old media. I went ahead and FTP’d all the old media over into a folder named uploads (the name of the old folder) but WP won’t/can’t display the media.

    I’ve verified that new media works fine, but of course it’ uploads to a folder named files (which is weird as well since I changed the upload folder in the Site settings.

    Is there any option I can do to get this working?

  • multisite only uses the /uploads/folder for the main site.

    you can put the old images there fr reference (so the urls work in existing posts), but the sub site will not be able to “see” them and list them in the Media screen. New images will be uploaded under blogs.dir and the url rewritten to use /files/.

    Ah hah! I see the uploads folder for the main site will have to include the old files. That’s easy enough, I’ve confirmed it worked. Thanks so much, this isn’t going to be as tedious of a task as I assumed it was going to be!
