We redesigned our site and moved it to a new URL, and wanted to import previous orders from the old website. Thankfully I had the ‘disable woocommerce emails’ plugin active so no one received ‘new order notifications’ for all the imported orders. (I encountered a disastrous problem with emails using your ‘import/export customers’ plugin.)

When I Imported the orders, though, all the old orders dates were changed to ‘today’ – the time and date that I imported, and all the order status’s changed to ‘processing’, thus syncing them with our shipstation app, which we definitely don’t want!

Is there any way just to import orders and retain their original date and status? We just want them for archive purposes so our staff can retrieve their data for tax purposes.

  • Hi @deeholzman,

Could you please share the CSV you imported via support.

Hi, I would REALLY love to know how you resolved this, if you have.

The same issue is happening to me. I exported twice, with different selections of items, trying to make it simple. but when the import is completed, all the orders show as PROCESSING, instead of either COMPLETE (most of them) or Processing (one or two).

    Please share a solution?

    Thanks!

EDIT: I redid the export and import, but now I have 13,000 orders instead of 3,000. HELP!

SOLUTION: use the plugin to create BOTH the Export AND the Import files. Easy peasy, Thanks!

    Hi @styzer,

Leave us a review if the plugin was helpful.

Hmmm actually it looks like the whole thing needs to be reloaded.

1- New accounts assign new users to old orders.
2- Products in orders ALL indicate “unknown.”

Can your plugin take care of a FULL export and import, from one WP site to another?

    Thanks,

    Andre

    Hi @styzer,

Orders will be assigned to users if the user exists in the site with the same email address as in the importing CSV.
Products will connect only if the products exist in the importing site with the same ID and SKU. If you want to skip the SKU you can edit the CSV in the line_items column and remove the product_id from the CSV so that the products will connect with the SKU. Kindly ensure to keep the | symbol and only delete the value in between.

    Hi,

Check with the latest version. Let us know if any issue.

    Hi!

I’m getting the same issue here.

I’ve tried export from plugin (to get the csv template, just like @styzer), change the email info for an another user and I got the success message from plugin, but the order didn’t assign to the existing user. (“pending payment” status, change to today order date and unknown user assignment)

    Any idea?

    Thanks!!!

    Hi @mcel,

The orders will be attached to the users with the email in the customer_email column of the importing CSV if they exist in the site. If the users with same email id do not exist, they will be imported as guest orders.

Date format should be same as the one in the export CSV. When you edited and saved the CSV, your CSV application might have saved the column with a different format.

Please share us the CSV via support link here, if the issue persists.
