• I am facing a really strange behavior of WordPress (Theme: Engic). I am currently playing around with the Engic Theme. My site is https://www.alster-it.de/wp/ .I have the wp-admin page in one tab of my browser and another site (https://www.controlconcepts.net) which uses Engic as well in another tab. The crazy thing is, that I now have most of their content in WordPress (pages, text, images, menu, …).

    In case of doubt:
    – I didn’t copied the content, it was for what ever reason just there.
    – I don’t own both sites. I just found their site on the web.

Any idea why and how this could happen?

  • Hi netlinx,

Is it possible that the theme came loaded with filler content? It’s not uncommon for purchased, premium themes to come with that sort of written copy and imagery already installed. If that was the case, then it would be on the theme owner (like you and whoever runs controlconcepts.net) to change that filler content into content suitable for your business.

Odd that the https://www.alster-it.de/wp/ theme has the exact same text, even when it specifically uses the Control Concepts company name in some of the content.

Control Concepts uses some of the exact text on their LinkdIn page as well, so it shouldn’t be stock text, unless they put stock text on their Linkdin page as well.

Well, if you are just using the theme for the layout and change all the text and images, there should not be an issue.

The demo content that comes with the theme is completely different. Is there something that I could have done accidentally? Is there some kind of drag-and-drop a hole site from a browser into wordpress? I mean I even have their images that they use for there fullscreen slider in my media library…
