Important question on recommended files permissions

    The recommended files permission for public_html is recommended to be 755 by the plugin. After updating to wordpress 4.8.2 I noticed that it changed to 750 and the plugin recommended to change it back to 755. Its possible it was changed by something else and not the wordpress update.

    My question is what is the difference between 755 and 750 and which one is recommended? I looked it up online and looks like some hosting providers have 750 by default for the public_html and some have 755.
