Important information about Version 3.0

In the coming weeks, likely the start of March 2019, we are releasing a new version of this plugin – version 3.0. This forum post contains important information about this new version of the WP Broadbean plugin.

It has been over 4 years since the very first version of the plugin was developed and since then it has undertaken many iterations. In order to improve the plugin from a user, developer, translation and security point of view we wanted to make some changes. These changes will be released in version 3.0 in the coming weeks.

The new version of the plugin is a complete rewrite and as such is not backward compatible with previous versions. The XML data needed for the plugin has changed along with the endpoint posting URL and much much more.

Therefore for users running 2.2.4 or less, we recommend that you remain on this version of the plugin for now. When you are ready to update your website, this is probably the best time to change to the new version. You can find more information on the attached link.

In summary, version 3.0 of the plugin coming soon is not compatible with older version of the plugin and you cannot simply update from version 2.2.4 or lower to version 3, without doing some work on your site first.
